Terms of use
Last updated September 4, 2026.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of LUCENT(“Lucent”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), including our website, studio, APIs, and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account, clicking to accept, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Lucent is an AI-assisted studio for planning, previewing, and exporting promotional product videos from screenshots, logos, copy, and related assets. Features and availability may change as the product evolves. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service with reasonable notice when practical.
2. Plans and limits
Current plan features are described on the site and may be updated from time to time. In summary:
- Free — preview the studio and library; up to three (3) free video generations; watermarked preview; no download/export of finished videos.
- Pro — currently $49/month (or the price shown at checkout); watermark-free export and download; a full monthly Lucent AI allowance (token/credit pool that covers OpenAI- and ElevenLabs-backed features and related compute reserved for rendering). Usage resets on a monthly UTC cycle unless we state otherwise.
Free generations are consumed when a studio or Director run completes for a project. On Free, Lucent AI features (chat, logos, voiceover, music, Help chat, and similar) are available within those three generations. On Pro, AI features draw from your plan’s monthly AI allowance. When a generation limit or allowance is exhausted, related features are blocked until reset, upgrade, or as otherwise stated in the product.
Attempting to bypass watermarks, export locks, generation limits, or AI allowances is a material breach of these Terms.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate account information and keep it updated. You are responsible for your credentials and all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher. Do not share your login or use the Service on behalf of others without authorization. Notify us promptly of unauthorized access.
Authentication may use email/password, magic link, or third-party sign-in (for example Google via our auth provider). You agree to those providers’ applicable terms when you use them.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of screenshots, logos, copy, brand assets, and other materials you upload (“Your Content”). You grant Lucent a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example mapping screens onto device mockups, generating copy, voiceover, music, or logos, and rendering exports.
You represent that you have all rights needed to upload and use Your Content and that it does not infringe others’ rights, violate law, or contain malware or illegal material.
5. Videos and AI outputs
Subject to these Terms and your plan, you may use videos and other outputs you create or export from Lucent for your own marketing and business purposes. Lucent does not claim ownership of Your Content or your finished videos. As between you and Lucent, you own the outputs generated for you, subject to (a) rights of third-party model providers in their models and systems, and (b) any third-party rights in materials you provided or that appear in the output.
AI outputs (copy, logos, voiceover, music suggestions, scene plans, chat replies) can be inaccurate, incomplete, or non-unique. You are solely responsible for reviewing outputs before publishing and for ensuring your use complies with advertising, IP, privacy, and other laws. Lucent does not guarantee originality, fitness for trademark use, or freedom from third-party claims.
6. AI features and third-party processors
Lucent uses third-party AI and infrastructure providers to power features such as Lucent AI studio chat, LUCENT Director scene planning, logo generation, voiceover, music, Help chat, and (where enabled) marketing site chat. Providers currently include OpenAI and ElevenLabs (and may include others we disclose in our Privacy Policy). Prompts, project context, and relevant assets may be sent to those providers to produce a result. Their processing is subject to their terms and privacy policies.
We may rate-limit, throttle, or disable AI features to prevent abuse, control cost, or protect the Service.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service.
- Do not bypass usage limits, watermarks, billing, authentication, or security controls.
- Do not use Lucent to generate or distribute unlawful, harmful, deceptive, infringing, or abusive content.
- Do not automate abuse of public endpoints (including marketing chat) or resell access without our written consent.
- Do not upload personal data of others without a lawful basis, or sensitive data where prohibited.
8. Billing, renewals, and refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, currently Lemon Squeezy (or a successor we designate). Prices, taxes, and currency are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You may cancel anytime from Billing or via the processor’s customer portal; access continues through the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated.
All subscription fees and AI usage/allowances are non-refundable, including unused time in a billing period and unused monthly AI allowance, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. We do not generally issue prorations, credits, or refunds for change of mind, unused features, or partial months.
9. Intellectual property complaints
If you believe content on Lucent infringes your rights, contact us with enough detail to identify the material and your claim. We may remove or disable access to content and suspend accounts in appropriate cases.
10. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUCENT DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI OUTPUTS WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LUCENT IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50) IF YOU ARE ON A FREE PLAN. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Lucent against claims arising from Your Content, your videos/outputs, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using Lucent at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk for Lucent, our users, or third parties. After termination, we may delete Your Content in the ordinary course of operating the Service, subject to our Privacy Policy and legal retention needs.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will try to provide reasonable notice on the site or by email.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise. Courts in Delaware (or the venue required by such mandatory law) shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, subject to those consumer protections.
